𝐀 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠

𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟭𝟮, 𝟭𝟴𝟵𝟴— a nation, weary of chains, stood up and declared itself free. Not with permission. Not with compromise. But with the full, unshakeable conviction that this land and its people deserved better.

One hundred and twenty-eight years have passed since that declaration. The faces have changed, the battles have taken new forms— but the promise that was made on that June still stands, still watches, still waits.

And yet, history is not merely something we look back on. It is the very ground we stand on. Every law we live under, every right we exercise, every freedom we take for granted was paid for by someone who had none of it. To forget that is not just carelessness— it is a quiet betrayal of everything they died for.

That is why we gather every June 12. Not out of routine. Not for ceremony. But because a nation that stops remembering where it came from will eventually lose sight of where it is supposed to go. Memory is not nostalgia— it is accountability. It holds the present to the standard of the past and asks: 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒘𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒉𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒔𝒂𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒖𝒔?

It was never just a moment in history— it was a mandate handed down to every generation that followed. A mandate to protect what was won, to demand what was promised, and to never mistake silence for peace or comfort for freedom.

We are that generation. The same conviction that raised that flag on June 12, 1898 still lives in us— because the promise was never finished. It was passed on.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐆𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐎𝐧-𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

On the afternoon of June 8, incoming Electrical Engineering freshmen gathered at the Engineering Building for the 𝑺𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝑶𝒏-𝒃𝒐𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑶𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏. The orientation provided them with valuable insights and foundational knowledge for their Bridging Class, serving as a stepping stone toward their journey in Electrical Engineering.

Afterward, a series of organized games prepared by the IIEE-SC were conducted to help the freshmen become acquainted with one another. These activities encouraged them to build new friendships, socialize, and foster a sense of camaraderie among their fellow future engineers.

The event was an overall success, made possible through the collaborative efforts, cooperation, and dedication of the IIEE-SC.
