📚 CSTC JHS Orientation: Library Services 📚
As part of the CSTC Junior High School orientation program, Mr. Peter John R. Corpuz, RL, our Junior High School Librarian, conducted an orientation on the various library services offered to students.

The session aimed to familiarize learners with the resources, facilities, and services available in the Junior high school library and media center to support their academic and personal growth. Mr. Corpuz emphasized the importance of developing good reading habits, using library resources responsibly, and making the library a partner in their learning journey.

Through this orientation, students were equipped with the knowledge they need to maximize the benefits of the library throughout the school year.

CSTCian Joins STARBOOKS Regional Stakeholders Convention in CALABARZON
November 12, 2024 | Monte Vista Hotsprings & Conference Resort, Calamba, Laguna

On November 12, 2024, the College of Sciences, Technology, and Communications, Inc. (CSTC) was represented by Junior High School Librarian, Mr. Peter John R. Corpuz, at the highly anticipated STARBOOKS Regional Stakeholders Convention held at Monte Vista Hotsprings & Conference Resort in Calamba, Laguna. This convention brought together educators, library professionals, and technology experts to explore the integration of advanced tools in educational resources.

The event featured a series of insightful talks from prominent resource speakers, who shared their knowledge on how technology can elevate learning experiences. Mr. Corpuz, along with other educators and stakeholders, gained valuable insights on innovative tools and methods to further enhance educational practices, especially in the context of libraries and information systems.

Key Resource Speakers and Topics:
1. Development of Interactive Content for STEAM
Ms. Maria Elaine P. De Velez, Founder and CEO of FrontLearners, Inc., discussed the importance of creating interactive content for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education. She emphasized how engaging, dynamic resources can inspire students and help them better understand complex subjects through interactive learning.

2. Unlocking the Power of AI Tools
Mr. Alfons B. Narquita, Head of DOST-STII, explored the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in education. His session focused on how AI can enhance learning environments, making educational processes more efficient and personalized for both students and educators.

3. Education Resiliency with Growth Mindset and Knowledge Channel Resources
Mr. Edric C. Calma, Director of Operations at Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc., delivered an inspiring talk on building educational resiliency. He discussed how a growth mindset, combined with accessible learning resources like Knowledge Channel, can equip both students and teachers to overcome challenges and continue thriving in the evolving educational landscape.

4. Data Visualization Using MS Excel
Mr. Dan Anthony D. Dorado, Assistant Professor at the School of Library and Information Studies, UP Diliman, shared practical tips on using Microsoft Excel for data visualization. His session demonstrated how effective data presentation can aid in better decision-making and enhance the way educational data is managed and interpreted.

The STARBOOKS Regional Stakeholders Convention served as an invaluable opportunity for CSTC’s representatives to connect with other educators, learn about cutting-edge educational tools, and bring back fresh ideas to further enhance the academic experience for students at CSTC.

Mr. Corpuz expressed his sincere gratitude for the opportunity to attend, highlighting that the insights gained from the resource speakers will greatly help in enhancing the library's role in supporting students' academic growth in the digital age. He also thanked DOST STARBOOKS for organizing this valuable event, and extended his appreciation to Dr. Nelson D. Mendoza (CSTC President), Dr. John Marc R. Mendoza (CSTC Chief Librarian), and Ms. Mary Jane S. Carandang (JHS Principal) for their continued support.

Recently, we had the privilege of donating books to Sariaya National High School, Pili National High School, Castañas National High School, and Librarians Association of Quezon Province-Lucena City, Inc. 🌍💖

We were honored to be joined by Ms. Mary Jane S. Carandang, our Junior High School Principal, Mr. Peter John R. Corpuz, our Junior High School Librarian, and our enthusiastic CSTC Student Leaders. Together, we’re fostering a culture of literacy and empowering our youth through the gift of reading! 📖❤️
