True rest begins when you stop reviewing what you "should" have finished this week.
To our SMLC leaders, therapists, staff, and parents: You poured out so much energy to keep things moving. Tonight, give your mind the grace to do absolutely nothing.
Log off mentally and enjoy the weekend. Happy Friday, SMLC Fam! 🤍

Nag Seselos Ba Ang Kapatid Ng Anak Mong May Special Needs? You Need To Read This.
Minsan hindi talaga maiiwasan na makaramdam ng selos ang kapatid.
At valid naman ang nararamdaman nila.
Because alam naman natin…
mas maraming time, focus, therapy, check-up, at support ang kailangan ng isa nating anak.
Kaya minsan, pakiramdam ng kapatid niya…
naiiwan siya.
Na kulang ang oras para sa kanya.
Na mas importante ang kapatid niya.
Na kailangan niyang tiisin at intindihin lahat.
And honestly…
this can silently affect them emotionally.
Pero ang tanong ngayon:
Ano ang pwede nating gawin bilang magulang?
Here are 5 things that may help avoid sibling rivalry:
1. Spend intentional one-on-one time
Kahit simple lang.
Kwentuhan.
Kain sa labas.
Laro.
Lambing.
Because children also need to feel:
“Important din ako kay mommy at daddy.”
2. Validate their feelings
Kapag nagseselos sila, huwag agad sabihing:
“Intindihin mo na lang kapatid mo.”
Instead try:
“Alam kong mahirap minsan.”
“Thank you for being patient.”
Their feelings matter too.
3. Don’t force responsibility too early
Hindi responsibilidad ng kapatid maging “second parent.”
Teach love naturally.
Guide them gently.
Because helping with love is different from carrying pressure.
4. Appreciate and affirm them often
Minsan tahimik lang silang mabait.
Pero napapagod din sila emotionally.
Tell them:
“I’m proud of you.”
“Thank you.”
“I love you too.”
5. Create moments na buong pamilya kayo
Hindi puro therapy.
Hindi puro correction.
Hindi puro stress.
Create happy memories together.
Because siblings also need connection—not just understanding.
At tandaan natin…
hindi lang ang batang may special needs ang kailangang alagaan emotionally.
Pati ang kapatid niya.
Because they are silently adjusting too.
