EMO and CAFA Hold Free Seminar on Upcycling

In a free seminar-workshop organized by the Extension Management Office for PUP barangay partners held last 24 May 2019, Interior Deisgner Arlene Malaya of the PUP College of Architecture and Fine Arts (CAFA) shared her knowledge on “Upcycling” particularly of plastic bottles, with participants from our partner Barangays.

The seminar is part of a community-oriented continuing program dubbed “Salin-kaalaman tungo sa kaunlaran”, PUP’s university-wide extension effort for its host and partner barangays. This is a program under the Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension, and Development.

Began in 2015, Salin-Kaalaman program aims to help build capability among our partners in their barangays to contribute to overall efforts at improving the lives of people in our communities. As Dean Jocelyn Lutap of the CAFA underscored in her welcoming remarks to the seminar participants “we are concerned with inclusive development” and that means engaging our partner barangays.
