TRITEK SHINES AT THE 1ST SM-DOST SUSTEX '25

Tritek Reverse Logistics Corporation talked about reverse logistics and our environmental responsibility in disposing product returns and wastes in a sustainable way.

The first Sustainability Expo (SUSTEX 2025) was held August 29-30 at the SMX Convention Center at SM Aura. The event was co-organised by SM Cares, led by SM Prime Holdings CEO Han Sy, together with the Department of Science and Technology headed by Sec. Renato Solidum, Jr.

TRITEK Assistant Manager for Business Development, Ry Caringal Jr., talked about the importance of handling product returns and the wastes responsibility and offered solutions and alternatives as to how this can be achieved, in front of a full packed audience comprising DOST scientists, environmentalists, and the general public.

TRITEK ALIGNS PLASTIC CO-PROCESSING CAPACITIES WITH ECOLOOP-REPUBLIC CEMENT

TRITEK's Reverse Logistics' and EPR Teams leadership visited Republic Cement's Plant in Taysan, Batangas early this April to appreciate EcoLoop's plastic retrieval and co-processing capacities and requirements.

The visit aims to align TRITEK's capabilities with that of EcoLoop's in order to achieve better complementation and a more seamless integration with the plastic wastes that TRITEK generates and brings to EcoLoop for co-processing.

These co-processed plastics are then issued as plastic credits by Tritek as a Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO), to its corporate principals and Obliged Enterprises (OEs) for their respective EPR compliances.

EcoLoop can co-process about 200MT a day of plastic wastes which are diverted from landfills and which, otherwise, could have filtered down to pollute our oceans and the environment.

Currently, however, experts estimate that the capacity of local cement companies to co-process plastic wastes can accommodate only up to 20 percent of the country's plastic waste footprint.

This becomes concerning in the next three years where the EPR law will require OEs to divert 80 percent of their plastic wastes or face stiff penalties.

Aside from Co-Processing partners, TRITEK is, likewise, continuously sourcing, supporting, and advocating upcycling partners specially for the hard to recycle Multi-Layered Plastics (MLPs) or sachets. TRITEK is continuously with collaborating TetraPak Philippines, Rural Industrial Corporation, and other MLP recyclers nationwide to increase the capacities and commercial viability of these recycle products.
