𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | Further strengthening its commitment to empowering aspiring civil servants, the Project Management Team of the extension project “𝐀𝐁𝐂𝐃𝐄: 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐃𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞” continued its Civil Service Examination review sessions for Municipal Job Order (JO) and Contract of Service (COS) workers in Balagtas, Bulacan on February 25, 27, and March 4, 2026.

On February 25, the session featured lectures by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐀𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐃.𝐂. 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧 on Logical Reasoning and 𝐌𝐫. 𝐉𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐝 𝐃.𝐅. 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬 on General Information: Peace and Human Rights, equipping participants with essential analytical and civic knowledge for the Civil Service Examination.

On February 27, 𝐀𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐄𝐦𝐦𝐚 𝐋. 𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞 and 𝐌𝐬. 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐕. 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐝 delivered lectures on Reading Comprehension and Vocabulary Development, respectively.

On March 4, the morning session featured lectures by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐥 𝐕. 𝐄𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐚 on the Philippine Constitution and 𝐌𝐫. 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐂. 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐚 on Worded Problems, further strengthening the participants’ knowledge in key areas of the Civil Service Examination.

Later in the day, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐀𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐃.𝐂. 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧 administered a mock Civil Service Examination, providing participants with a simulation of the actual test environment to assess their readiness. This was followed by an awarding ceremony led by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐈𝐦𝐞𝐞 𝐃. 𝐄𝐬𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐚, BASC Extension Services Director, together with LGU–Balagtas representatives 𝐌𝐬. 𝐋𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐀𝐢𝐳𝐚 𝐒. 𝐌𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐲, Municipal Administrator, and 𝐌𝐬. 𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐃. 𝐑𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐬, HR Representative, recognizing the participants’ dedication throughout the training.

The training series in Balagtas, Bulacan concluded with a closing program led by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐄𝐬𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐚, who encouraged participants to apply the knowledge and strategies they gained as they prepare for the Civil Service Examination scheduled this coming Sunday. The sessions formed part of a five-day review training series, with earlier sessions conducted on February 18 and 20, 2026.

𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟴-𝟭𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 | 𝙉𝙍𝘾𝙋, 𝘽𝘼𝙎𝘾 𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨! 👩🏻‍💻✨

The two-day 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 has officially wrapped up!

This CASCaDe Program activity was successfully carried out by the National Research Council of the Philippines (𝗡𝗥𝗖𝗣) 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗩𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲 (𝗫𝗜𝗜𝗜) in collaboration with 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲, bringing together NRCP members, faculty, and researchers to improve their skill sets in scientific publishing and proposal writing.

𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐇. 𝐓𝐚𝐧, President of BASC, welcomed the participants before a series of learning sessions began.

📝 On Day 1, participants learned from:
• 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞 𝐏. 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚, 𝐃𝐕𝐌, 𝐏𝐡.𝐃., who discussed useful applications of AI and cutting-edge technologies in authoring scientific publications; and
• 𝐃𝐫. 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐀. 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫, 𝐃𝐕𝐌, 𝐏𝐡.𝐃., who stressed the significance of ethics when writing research papers.
• 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐘𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐳, Chair of NRCP Div. XIII, who gave practical tips on publication and authorship.

The day concluded with hands-on mentorship, in which participants presented and refined their research findings with advice from the presenters.

📝 Day 2 focused on creating stronger grant proposals.
• 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚 led another insightful workshop, this time on applying AI for grant applications.
• 𝐌𝐬. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞 𝐎. 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐨, Senior SRS for DOST-NRCP, guided participants through the NRCP Membership Application process.
• 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐘𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐳, discussed the National Integrated Basic Research Agenda (NIBRA) of DOST.

An open forum allowed participants to ask questions about proposal preparation, which was followed by mentoring and critiquing sessions to help them strengthen their grant proposals and get them ready for submission.
