The atmosphere in the STEM 12-Maxwell classroom feels different now, a little less bright, as we say goodbye to our incredible class adviser and research teacher, Sir Knarfe O. Laporca Jr., the man we all know and love as 'Sir Poy.' For the entire school year, he wasn't just standing at the front of the room; he was our guiding star, lighting up the sometimes confusing path of research and helping us grow as individuals with his constant support and the genuine excitement he brought to everything.

Sir Poy's impact went far beyond the notebook pages and expectations of our research projects. He had this incredible ability to reach out to each of us on an individual basis, ever willing to listen and share a word of encouragement at just the right moment when we needed it. Whether we were struggling to work through our research ideas or simply wanted to talk about life in general, Sir Poy was ever present, with a warm smile and wise counsel. Though sometimes you have a little attitude toward us whenever you are drained and stressed when you are checking our research paper.

Despite that, you didn't mishandle us, not just our section but the other STEM sections too. The genuine concern you had for our well-being created a bond of unity amongst our class so that STEM 12-Maxwell was just like a genuine family where everyone belonged.

Your favorite quote was, "𝑹𝑬𝑱𝑬𝑪𝑻𝑰𝑶𝑵 𝑴𝑬𝑨𝑵𝑺 𝑹𝑬𝑫𝑰𝑹𝑬𝑪𝑻𝑰𝑶𝑵." This made us shape our perspective into a lesson that despite losing our toughest battle, it was always 'GOD'S PLAN.

Being our research teacher, it was Sir Poy who ignited our curiosity effectively. He didn't just drill us on the steps of research; he made us genuinely want to learn about the world around us, to ask "why," and to go after knowledge with real passion. He was so patient with us during all our brainstorming sessions, helped us shape our sometimes messy ideas into actual research topics, and celebrated every little step forward we took. His belief in what we could do gave us the confidence to take on even the toughest research challenges without feeling completely lost.

As this school year comes to an end, we feel so much gratitude for your hard work and how much you cared about our growth. The things you taught us, both about school and about life, are things we'll carry with us long after we leave STEM 12-Maxwell. You didn't just give us the skills we need for college and beyond; you also showed us the importance of never giving up, being kind to each other, and truly connecting with people.

Even though we're sad that we're moving on to new things, all of us in Maxwell want to send our biggest thank you to you, Sir Poy. Thank you for your patience, for guiding us, for always believing in us, and for making our time learning together so special. We wish you all the very best in whatever comes next for you, and we hope you know how much of a difference you've made in each of our lives. We're going to miss you a lot! I hope we will meet you again next time. We love you, Sir Poy.

Sincerely,
From your loving and caring students, STEM-12 Maxwell XII

Happy World Teacher's Day

Along with Grade XI-SY, today we end the special month dedicated to teachers around the world. To all the educators who inspire us daily, we express our heartfelt gratitude for your patience, kindness, and for lighting the way when things seem unclear. You’ve not only taught lessons from books, but also the lessons of life showing us how to grow, how to believe in ourselves, and how to never stop learning.

We're better because of you. 💛
