Pako/Paco (Diplazium esculentum), or fiddlehead fern, is one of at least ten edible ferns that have been identified in the Philippines. They are usually gathered in the wild, and rarely cultivated. In the wild, pako ferns are abundant in shaded areas with little disturbance and lots of water.

Harvested pako ferns are usually wrapped in banana leaves or leaf sheaths and sold in public markets. Some of the traditional preparations for pako are steamed, with coconut milk, sautéed, and ensalada.

Other local names for Pako are Pak-paku, Apako, and Pako-pako.
