PRAYER ALERT: Residents in Albay are once again facing difficult conditions as Mayon Volcano continues its activity. Following the volcano’s strongest pyroclastic density current (PDC) so far this year, ashfall has affected thousands of people, disrupting daily life and putting health at risk especially for children, the elderly, and those with respiratory conditions.

In response, Operation Blessing is sending N95 masks to help protect residents from inhaling ash and fine particles. These masks are a critical need as families cope with poor air quality caused by ongoing volcanic activity. At the same time, we are preparing for the next phase of response to address other urgent needs in the affected communities.

We humbly ask for your prayers:
-For the safety and protection of families living near Mayon
-For those experiencing breathing difficulties and other health concerns
-For calm, strength, and resilience as communities face this season of uncertainty

We also invite you to stand with us in helping provide much-needed protective supplies and continued support to affected families. Your generosity enables us to respond quickly and remain in times of crisis.

If you would like to support this mission, you may give today by calling 0939-921-5543 or 0998-595-4938.

Lk 9:28b-36
Jesus took Peter, John, and James
and went up the mountain to pray.
While he was praying his face changed in appearance
and his clothing became dazzling white.
And behold, two men were conversing with him, Moses and Elijah,
who appeared in glory and spoke of his exodus
that he was going to accomplish in Jerusalem.
Peter and his companions had been overcome by sleep,
but becoming fully awake,
they saw his glory and the two men standing with him.
As they were about to part from him, Peter said to Jesus,
“Master, it is good that we are here;
let us make three tents,
one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
But he did not know what he was saying.
While he was still speaking,
a cloud came and cast a shadow over them,
and they became frightened when they entered the cloud.
Then from the cloud came a voice that said,
“This is my chosen Son; listen to him.”
After the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone.
They fell silent and did not at that time
tell anyone what they had seen.

Lent is the 40-day, penitential season of preparation for Easter. It begins on Ash Wednesday and ends with the Paschal Triduum. "Lent invites us to conversion, to a change in mindset, so that life’s truth and beauty may be found not so much in possessing as in giving, not so much in accumulating as in sowing and sharing goodness," said Pope Francis in his 2022 Lent Message.

We partake in Lent with prayer, fasting and almsgiving. "Let us not grow tired of doing good. The soil is prepared by fasting, watered by prayer and enriched by charity," he explained. "By cultivating fraternal love towards everyone, we are united to Christ, who gave his life for our sake, and we are granted a foretaste of the joy of the kingdom of heaven."

May you Lenten Season this year be a source of healing for you.
