DOST VI conducted Training on Native Chicken Production for different Native Chicken Farmer - Growers.

Dr. Maryneth B. Barrios, Project Leader of the Native Chicken Value Chain project, served as a resource person in which she discussed management practices for native chicken, particularly on Darag Native chicken. Dr. Barrios also introduced different Smart technologies on how to improve native chicken production, such as deworming using Botanical Dewormer of the BDOZ Veterinary Product Trading of Dr. Bede Ozaraga, New Castle Disease Vaccine using the Oil Emulsion Killed Vaccine of DA RFO 7 from Cebu City, selection of breeder and use of Artificial Egg Incubator, brooding and hardening management technology from WVSU as well as free range management and use of alternative feed sources such as tricanthera, Azolla, mani mani, etc. to lessen farmers feed cost.
