⚠️ 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲

🩼𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀.

Displacement, damaged roads and infrastructure, living in makeshift shelters, and navigating the challenges of receiving assistance are among the realities faced by families affected by the earthquake. These challenges are often even greater for older persons and persons with disabilities with physical impairments, whose mobility and ability to access support may be significantly limited.

✋🏼By providing assistive devices, the 𝗘𝗨 𝗖𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗶𝗱-𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁, in collaboration with the Sarangani Provincial Health Office, the Municipal Health Office of Glan, and the Department of Health Region XII, helps ensure that older persons and persons with disabilities are not left behind in the emergency response, enabling them to move more safely, maintain their independence, and access the support they need with dignity.

⚠️ 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲

In times of emergency, sleeping kits provide not only essential items but also a sense of safety, comfort, and dignity for the affected families who have lost their homes.

Following the 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝟳.𝟴 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗸𝗲, many residents of Barangay Small Margus in Glan, Sarangani, lost their homes and sources of livelihood. With no evacuation center capable of accommodating all affected families, residents sought refuge on higher ground, where they established temporary shelters.🏕️

✋🏼𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁, 𝘀𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀, particularly older persons, persons with disabilities, pregnant women, and children, as they cope with uncertainty regarding when they will be able to return home.

𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗘𝗦𝗦 (Assisting the Most Vulnerable Communities and Schools Affected by Complex Emergencies in Accessing Quality and Timely Humanitarian and Disaster Preparedness Services) is a multi-year, multi-sectoral project funded by the EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid.
