The meeting gathered LCOs from Sta. Rosa, Biรฑan and Calamba Laguna at the Calamba Satellite Office to discuss upcoming activities and key environmental concerns affecting lakeshore communities.
The meeting focused on the schedule of activities for the 2nd Quarter of 2026, including discussions on the Laguna Lake Reclamation and related development projects such as the proposed Floating Solar Farm. Participants aligned and deepened their understanding of the possible impacts of these projects on lakeshore communities, livelihoods, and the environment.
Key action points agreed upon during the meeting included the conduct of a Laguna Lake Summit and the Bahanggunihan Network General Assembly, as well as the creation of survey teams that will conduct data gathering in communities potentially affected by the Laguna Lake Reclamation and Floating Solar Farm projects.
The group also confirmed the participation of Bahanggunihan and Community Organizers Multiversity (COM) as co-convenors for the launching of โYakap Lawaโ on May 29, further strengthening the collective campaign for environmental protection, community rights, and sustainable development around Laguna Lake.
The meeting emphasized the importance of community participation, research, and multi-sectoral coordination in addressing issues affecting lakeshore communities and in advancing the protection and sustainability of Laguna Lake for future generations.
