The University Library proudly congratulates the Library Extension Committee (LEC) on bagging the Philippine Association of Academic/Research Librarians, Inc. (PAARL)'s Outstanding Library Program of the Year award for their Librarians Empowerment Action of Diliman (LEAD) program.

Since 2018, LEAD has been a sustainable extension program that provides information literacy programs to communities beyond the walls of UP Diliman. This initiative upholds the principle of providing timely access to information that can transform lives, especially for communities with limited resources.

The Outstanding Library Program of the Year Award is given to an academic or research library in recognition of its outstanding library program that contributes to Philippine academic librarianship and library development in the Philippines. The library program must have a strong impact on the library community, be innovative, sustainable, and may be replicated in other library communities, or institutions.
