The PNU Mindanao ROTC Unit proudly took part in the successful conduct of Flame of Excellence 2026 held on May 21 at Covered Court 1, honoring the universityโs March 2026 LEPT passers and topnotchers.
Through teamwork, discipline, and dedication, the ROTC Unit actively contributed to the preparation and restoration of the venue, ensuring that the program area remained organized and presentable before and after the event. ROTC medics were also stationed throughout the activity to provide immediate assistance and ensure the safety and well-being of participants and guests.
During the Torch Parade, the unit rendered crowd control and traffic management, maintaining order and the smooth flow of the celebration. The Colors also proudly stood as a symbol of honor and respect, adding dignity and formality to the ceremony.
The participation of the ROTC Unit reflected the values of service, leadership, cooperation, and commitment in supporting university events and celebrating the achievements of the new generation of licensed teachers.

The ROTC Unit brought together cadets, officers, and distinguished guests for a memorable evening of elegance and unity during its much-anticipated ROTC Ball. The event served as a celebration of dedication, discipline, and shared achievements within the corps.
The program commenced with a grand entrance of ROTC cadets from Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Headquarters (HQ), SRRU, 2CL, and 1CL, alongside the GMA and Training Staff, setting a formal and spirited tone for the night. This was followed by a doxology and a multimedia presentation highlighting the journey and milestones of the unit throughout the training period.
In his welcome remarks, CDT COL ELGIE JOHN Y HINALOC 1CL ROTC emphasized the importance of unity, leadership, and perseverance among cadets, recognizing their hard work and commitment to service. The celebration continued with intermission numbers from each platoon, showcasing talent, teamwork, and creativity that brought energy and excitement to the event.
As the evening progressed, cadets and officers enjoyed dinner before one of the highlights of the night, the presentation of Best Dressed Male and Female Cadets/Officers, where participants confidently displayed elegance, bearing, and personality.
The giving of awards followed, honoring outstanding individuals who demonstrated excellence, discipline, and commitment throughout the ROTC program.
The program formally concluded with closing remarks delivered by Pfc John Benjamin M Paler (Inf) PA, inspiring cadets to carry forward the values they have learned. The night ended on a patriotic note with the mass singing of โPilipinas Kong Mahal,โ leaving everyone with a renewed sense of pride and dedication to service.
