Bridging Ideas to Action!

The School of Tourism and Hospitality Management of Holy Cross College will conduct a seminar entitled “A Step-by-Step Guide to Bridging the Gap Between Research Interests and Methodology,” in coordination with Smartmasters Review Association Inc. The seminar is designed for all 3rd year students currently taking the research subject, providing them with essential guidance to strengthen their research journey from topic selection to proper methodological alignment.

Ethics in Action”: SMRAI’s First National Research Conference

The SmartMasters Review Association Inc. (SMRAI) successfully brought together researchers, educators, and academic leaders from across the country in a dynamic virtual gathering centered on ethical and responsible research in business and management during its inaugural National Research Conference held last December 09, 2025.

This year’s theme, “Ethics in Action: Advancing Responsible Research in Business and Management,” was highlighted by an insightful keynote address delivered by Dr. Sherna G. Bangalan of Pampanga State University (PamSU). In her talk, Dr. Bangalan focused on the importance of integrity, accountability, and social responsibility in contemporary research practices.

Moreover, one of the key highlights of the conference was the series of research presentations, where both faculty and student researchers engaged in rigorous scholarly discussions across multiple sessions, fostering knowledge exchange and academic collaboration. Participating institutions were: Pampanga State University (PamSu), Holy Cross College (HCC), and Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST). Furthermore, to enrich scholarly discourse among research presenters, the panel of reactors composed of Dr. Jiego A. Reyes, Academic Chairperson of Pampanga State University (PamSU)–Candaba Campus, and Dr. Ivan N. Faronal, Associate Professor from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) took the lead.

Ultimately, the event also recognized excellence through the awarding of Best Paper and Best Presentation, recognizing those with outstanding contributions to research. Overall, the conference etched a significant milestone in fostering a culture of ethical and responsible research among participants and other stakeholders.
