“Depression” was born in the stillness that follows emotional exhaustion, when the tears have stopped, the anger has faded, and all that remains is a quiet, unfamiliar emptiness. It is the sound of sitting with your grief long enough to recognize its shape, to understand that some wounds do not scream, they whisper.

I wrote this song during a night when the world felt distant, like I was watching life happen from behind glass. Memories played on repeat, not loud enough to break me, but heavy enough to keep me from moving forward. In that silence, I realized that healing is not always loud or triumphant. Sometimes, it begins in the moments when you feel the most lost.

This piece reflects a chapter of grief where you stop fighting the pain and start learning how to live beside it. It is about the weight of mornings you don’t want to face, the comfort of solitude, and the fragile hope that quietly survives underneath it all.

While Valentine’s Day fills the world with flowers, laughter, and love stories, there are hearts spending the day in silence, feeling unseen, lonely, and isolated. This song is for them. For the ones smiling in public but breaking in private. For the ones learning to sit with their emptiness while the world celebrates togetherness.

But “Depression” is not the end of the story. It is a pause, a breath held in the dark, trusting that somewhere beyond this stillness, the heart will remember how to feel warmth again.
