The GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® was developed through years of exploration into movement and energetic principles.

Juliu Horvath, a former principal dancer with the Romanian National Ballet, suffered a career-altering injury that set him on a journey of self-discovery. His deep exploration of movement and healing led to the creation of a system that integrates breath, fluidity, and expansion—an approach now practiced by people worldwide.

Today, Juliu continues to create new programming for the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Methods, develop new Gyrotonic equipment and refine existing equipment designs. He also conducts specialized teacher training courses for Master Trainers, such as in this image of Juliu during a 2024 course.

Learn more about the creation of these movement methods and Juliu's story on our website through the link in our bio.

When movement and breath unite, we tap into a greater sense of freedom, fluidity, and vitality. This connection transforms exercise into something more, an experience.

Juliu’s words remind us that true movement is not just mechanical; it is alive, organic, and deeply integrated with our breath. Through this integration, we unlock the full potential of the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Methods, cultivating a practice that nurtures both body and spirit.
