A Field Density Test (FDT), also known as a soil density test, is a crucial procedure in construction to determine the compactness of soil at a site. It ensures the soil meets the required density for stability and load-bearing capacity, preventing future settlement and structural failures. The test is performed before and after compaction to verify the soil has been compacted sufficiently.
