According to PHIVOLCS, no aftershocks or structural damage are expected from this event.

Just outside PSHS-MRC Campus sits a familiar figure to many students, Nanay Imelda G. Oriendo, a 56-year-old vendor whose small stall has quietly become part of the daily routine of many scholars. For nearly fifteen years, her modest stall has welcomed hungry students and passersby alike, offering simple food, small goods, and a warm, familiar smile.

But long before she became a familiar face near the campus, Nanay Imelda had already been working hard.

From the typical math classes to the balls used in sports, to the plates we eat on, circles and the pi that defines them are everywhere. 𝗣𝗶 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲.

This 𝗣𝗶 𝗗𝗮𝘆, also celebrated as the 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀, we take a moment to appreciate mathematics—no matter how much it sometimes drives our minds crazy—for its countless contributions to society.

Often called the universal language, mathematics helps explain the patterns of nature, guide scientific discovery, and power the technologies we rely on every day. From the engineering of bridges and spacecraft to the algorithms behind our phones and computers, math quietly shapes the modern world.

So today, we celebrate not just pi, but the curiosity, logic, and creativity that mathematics inspires. Whether through solving equations, exploring patterns, or simply appreciating the elegance of numbers, math reminds us that even the most abstract ideas can have profound impacts on our lives.

In more ways than one, math really does make the world go round.

With the sub-theme “Lead like the Babaylans, Filipinas!”, the event paid tribute to the leadership, courage, and enduring influence of Filipina women in shaping communities and the nation.
