Global Formwork Solutions

Design Stage:
This formwork traveler design for Cross Passage (CP) Tunnel was made possible through thorough discussion with client and understanding their need of formwork solution. The traveler has to lower down by more than 1 meter to pass through an overhead cast structure at the end of CP. The solution was to introduce an adjusting leg composed of inner and outer tube fitted with hydraulic jack inside. This allows the operation and moving of the traveler to be quickly executed from one CP to another thus saving cost and time, a significant aspect in a construction world.

From concept to design and to er****on, GFS successfully provided a solution of steel bracket support during construction of a massive pierhead. The pierhead is located nearby a nullah where erecting a traditional birdcage shoring is prohibited. GFS designed and provided drawings for steel bracket with cantilevers at both ends, supporting weight of pierhead at estimated 600 tons of reinforced concrete. The weight is then transferred from steel bracket into the supporting heavy duty shoring towers. With concerted effort and our engineer’s experience and creativity, we find solutions to challenging construction temporary works.
