Berenice and JC conducted their research under the guidance of Dr. Concepcion Ponce, PhD.

Berenice’s thesis was evaluated by panel members Asst. Pof Rnie Shayne Gaurana, MSc and Instr. Mary Dored Ann Cadeliña, RCh. Meanwhile, JC’s thesis was evaluated by Engr. Leonard King Jao and Instr. Mary Dored Ann Cadeliña, RCh.

The AVAMOS Innovations Research Group proudly celebrates another remarkable milestone as BIVIDA secures a spot as one of the finalist teams in the 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐍𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐆𝐑𝐈-𝐓𝐄𝐂𝐇 𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐗 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, held last March 11, 2026 at Quezon City University.

As part of the first domain-focused TECH PLANTER program conducted outside Japan, this prestigious competition brought together innovative agri-tech solutions from across the country, showcasing excellence, creativity, and impactful, research-driven innovations for sustainable agriculture.

Clinching victory in Round 1 under Green Biochemical Solutions, BIVIDA presents an innovative slow-release fertilizer coated with natural polymer blends. Engineered with a nano-porous structure, it is designed to deliver a complete nutrient solution for hydroponic systems, advancing efficiency, nutrient utilization, and sustainability in modern agriculture.

The BIVIDA team is composed of Chemistry students Eunice Ferolino, Aaron Cimafranca, Lesley Ferrer, and Berenice Benitez, under the guidance and mentorship of Prof. Concepcion P. Ponce and Ms. Christine Faith Germinal.

Ma’am Kris is also a valued member of the AVAMOS Innovations Research Group, serving as Project Staff of the AVAMOS Verdante Project. We are truly proud of this well-deserved milestone and her commitment to excellence in research and science education.
