KINDS OF KINDNESS Review

The three-story movie directed by Yorgos Lanthimosco co-written by Efthimis Filippou disturbs my idea of kindness. Holding to an idea of kindness we believe in and mostly do every day, after seeing the movie, I start to question myself and ponder to the people around me: Is it really kindness? The movie is simple, with no exaggerated effects or styles as I have seen it, but it depicts our society. The hypocrisy of the title itself is brilliant. The title talks about kindness but is undeniably not present in the three stories at all. The sarcasm of the movie is true-to-life. It's us in the stories.

We give things unreasonably just because we thought it's kind, but it never was. The kindness we gave to them made them think that they are right and they deserve all the respect, decency, time, and effort. So, before you act such a thing, think twice. Is it really the kind of kindness you want to give? Is it kind (good)?

After seeing the movie, I realize I am no good at all.
