REHIYON // JEEPNEY GETS CAUGHT ON POWER LINE AND CATCHES FIRE, DRIVER DIES IN LEGAZPI CITY

A jeepney driver in Legazpi City, Albay, tragically met his end after his vehicle got entangled in a hanging power line, leading to a fire this morning.

According to the authorities' initial report, the jeepney, which plied the Legazpi City – Polangui route, was on its way back to Polangui when it accidentally snagged a dangling power cable in front of the SSS office in Legazpi. The jeepney caught fire, and the driver, who attempted to escape the vehicle, was electrocuted by the strong current, causing him to be thrown onto the road.

The city’s firefighters quickly responded and extinguished the blaze but could not save the driver’s life.

The police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
