: Higher Net Benefit for workers

BIR increased the ceiling for non-taxable De Minimis Benefits of government and private sector employees which will result to higher take home benefits.

Pursuant to Revenue Regulation No. 029-2025 dated October 27, 2025, the following De Minimis Benefits are exempt from income tax:

1. Monetized unused vacation leave credits of private employees not exceeding twelve (12) days during the year (previously 10 days);

2. Monetized value of vacation and sick leave credits paid to government officials and employees;

3. Medical cash allowance to dependents of employees not exceeding P2.000.00 per
employee per semester or P333.00 per month (previously ₱1,500.00);

4. Rice subsidy of P2,500.00 or one (1) sack of 50 kg. rice per month amounting to
not more than P2.500.00 (previously ₱2,000.00 per month);

5. Uniform and clothing allowance not exceeding P8,000.00 per annum (previously ₱7,000.00 per year);

TANONG NG BAYAN | Kabilang ba ang mga barangay workers sa expanded maternity leave?

Opo!

Ayon sa Section 4 ng Republic Act No. 11210 o 105-Day Expanded Maternity Leave Law, ang lahat ng buntis na nasa pampublikong sektor, anumang employment status, ay may 105 araw na maternity leave na may buong sahod, normal man o caesarean ang panganganak. Saklaw nito ang mga empleyado ng NGAs, LGUs, GOCCs, at SUCs, kabilang ang barangay workers. Ang solo mothers ay may hanggang 120 araw.

Tinitiyak din ng batas ang job security ay hindi maaaring ibaba ang posisyon, bawasan ang sahod, o tanggalin sa serbisyo dahil sa maternity leave.

Suportado ito ng DILG. Sa pagdiriwang ng Araw ng mga Ina, patuloy nating isulong ang karapatan ng kababaihan laban sa diskriminasyon sa trabaho.

Due to the El Niño Alert, warmer and drier conditions are expected in the coming months. Everyone is advised to take the following precautions:
✅ Be aware of possible health risks:
• Heat exhaustion and heat stroke
• Dehydration
• Skin and respiratory problems
• Increased risk of water-borne diseases

💧 Practice healthy habits:
• Drink plenty of water throughout the day
• Avoid prolonged exposure to heat, especially from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Wear light, breathable clothing and use hats or umbrellas
• Stay in cool, shaded, or well-ventilated areas
• Eat nutritious food and practice proper hygiene
• Use clean and safe drinking water

👶👵 Give special attention to vulnerable groups:
• Children
• Senior citizens
• Pregnant women
• Persons with chronic illnesses
Monitor them closely for signs of heat-related illnesses such as dizziness, fatigue, or nausea.

🐾 Take care of pets:
• Provide fresh, clean water at all times
• Keep pets in shaded and well-ventilated areas
• Avoid walking pets on hot surfaces
• Watch for signs of heat stress and seek veterinary help if needed

🌱 Help protect the environment:
• Conserve water and use it wisely
• Properly dispose of waste
• Avoid open burning
• Help reduce smoke and pollution
