Please be informed that today’s scheduled Community Immersion (April 12, 2025) is officially postponed due to the extreme heat index recorded in our area. This decision is made in consideration of everyone’s health and safety.

Please note, however, that immersion hours for April 12 will still be counted, even if the actual activity has been cancelled for the day.

We understand the eagerness of everyone to fulfill this requirement, but your well-being remains our top priority.

Stay safe and cool, everyone.

Heat Index in two Bicol provinces to reach danger level today

The heat index in parts of the Bicol Region is expected to soar to dangerous levels this Saturday, April 12, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Based on reports from PAGASA’s Synoptic Stations, the highest heat index for the day may reach up to 42°C in Virac, Catanduanes and Masbate City, Masbate—levels considered dangerous and potentially harmful to health.

Here are the forecasted heat index levels across key areas in Bicol:

• Daet, Camarines Norte: 39°C

• Pili, Camarines Sur: 40°C

• Legazpi City, Albay: 39°C

• Juban, Sorsogon: 38°C

• Virac, Catanduanes: 42°C

• Masbate City, Masbate: 42°C

Health officials warn that extreme heat can lead to heat cramps, exhaustion, and in severe cases, heat stroke.

The public is advised to wear or carry sun protection, stay hydrated, and remain indoors as much as possible during peak heat hours.

SBC-NSTP Office proudly announces that NSTP 2 students have officially commenced their Community Immersion for the 2nd Semester, A.Y. 2024–2025. This marks the beginning of their hands-on engagement with local communities, where they will apply their knowledge and skills in health education, environmental sustainability, and wellness programs.

This experience goes beyond fulfilling academic requirements— it’s an opportunity for our students to cultivate empathy, leadership, and a genuine commitment to service. Through these initiatives, they are not only making a difference in the lives of others but also shaping themselves into responsible stewards of humanity.

To our NSTP 2 students, may this journey inspire you to continue serving with compassion and dedication. We see your efforts and we are always proud of what you’re doing! ❤️
