It is a reminder of the countless ways they nurture not only families, but also communities of offering guidance, comfort, and resilience in times of both joy and hardship. In every embrace, every lesson, and every act of care, mothers help cultivate a culture of understanding and support. Today, we celebrate not only biological mothers, but also all women who take on nurturing roles: guardians, mentors, social workers, and community leaders who dedicate themselves to uplifting others and creating safe spaces for growth and healing.

May this day be filled with appreciation, love, and gratitude. May we continue to honor their sacrifices by embodying the values they instill in us, the kindness, generosity, and the deep commitment to serving others.

“𝐿𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑏𝑒𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑠 𝑚𝑒𝑎𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑓𝑢𝑙 𝑤𝒉𝑒𝑛 𝑖𝑡 𝑖𝑠 𝑢𝑠𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝒉𝑒𝑙𝑝 𝑜𝑡𝒉𝑒𝑟𝑠.”

The Social Work students successfully completed their Agency Culmination across various partner agencies in last April 2026. This activity marked the culmination of their field practicum, wherein they applied their academic knowledge in real-life settings.

The culmination activities were conducted in the following agencies:

Through these activities, the students presented their accomplishments, reflected on their field experiences, and demonstrated their readiness to serve diverse communities.

This Agency Culmination stands as a testament to the students’ dedication, growth, and commitment to the social work profession.

The Social Work Department expresses its sincere gratitude for the support of the Institution, Partner Agencies, Agency Heads, Staffs, Social Work Students and other Individuals for their continued support, guidance, and collaboration in the training of future social workers.

The Social Work Department conducted its Lakbay-Aral for sophomore students on April 21–24, 2026 in Cagayan de Oro City as part of their preparation for practicum. This activity provided students with actual exposure to different institutions and a better understanding of social work practice in the field.

The group visited:

Through these visits, students were able to observe the programs and services offered to children, women, and elderly individuals, as well as the roles of social workers in handling cases and delivering appropriate interventions.

This Lakbay-Aral served as a meaningful experience in bridging classroom learning with actual field exposure, strengthening the students’ preparation for their practicum.

The students were accompanied and guided throughout the activity by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗱 𝗔𝘀𝗵𝗿𝗮𝗳 𝗦. 𝗦𝗶𝗵𝗮𝘄𝗶, Department Chairperson; 𝗠𝘀. 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗵 𝗘. 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗻, 𝗥𝗦𝗪, JSWAP Adviser; and 𝗠𝘀. 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗵 𝗨. 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗱𝗮𝗻, 𝗥𝗦𝗪.

On this day, April 9, we pause to remember courage that shaped a nation.

Araw ng Kagitingan reminds us that the strength of our country was not built in comfort, but through sacrifice, bravery, and firm determination in times of war and hardship. We honor the Filipino heroes who stood firm and fought for the freedom we continue to experience today.

Their legacy lives on in the values we uphold as future social workers, resilience in adversity, compassion for others, and a deep commitment to service and nation-building.

To our modern day heroes in communities across the country, may we continue to serve with the same courage, dedication, and heart for the people.

The JSWAP - PEACI Chapter proudly took part in the 𝗝𝗦𝗪𝗔𝗣 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 held in Cebu City. Representing the chapter were 𝗠𝘀. 𝗟𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗲 𝗔. 𝗧𝗮𝗵𝗮 and 𝗠𝗿. 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗼𝗸, accompanied by the Department Chairperson, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗱 𝗔𝘀𝗵𝗿𝗮𝗳 𝗦. 𝗦𝗶𝗵𝗮𝘄𝗶.

This participation reflects our dedication to learning beyond the classroom and engaging with the broader community of future social workers. Experiences like this allow our representatives to engage with fellow student leaders, gain insights, and bring back knowledge that strengthens both practice and purpose of the chapter.

The chapter extends its heartfelt gratitude to the institution for making this opportunity possible, especially to 𝗗𝗿. 𝗥𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗮, School President; 𝗗𝗿. 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗴, School Director; 𝗗𝗿. The Islamic Seminar “Between Desire and Discipline: A Seminar on Ethics, Relationships, and Self-Control” brings students together in a meaningful space for reflection, learning, and dialogue. The seminar aims to deepen understanding of ethical conduct, responsible relationships, and the importance of self-discipline as guided by Islamic teachings.

Through this initiative, students are encouraged to reflect on the balance between personal desires and moral responsibility, while strengthening their commitment to values that promote integrity, respect, and accountability in everyday life.
