𝗛𝗜𝗝𝗔𝗕 𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗛 🧕

𝗛𝗶𝗷𝗮𝗯 is often seen as just a 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘧, but in Islam it carries a deeper meaning. The word hijab comes from Arabic word meaning a 𝙗𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙧 or 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, pointing to the idea of modesty in both behavior and dress for women and men. The Qur’an uses the terms 𝙠𝙝𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙧 for a head covering and 𝙟𝙞𝙡𝙗𝙖𝙗 for an outer garment, showing that hijab is not only about clothing but also about values and conduct.

Among Muslim women, hijab is part of everyday life shaped by belief, culture, and personal understanding.

Hijab goes beyond fabric. It includes our words, actions, and even our gaze. It is meant to protect dignity and encourage respect, not to take away freedom.

This Hijab Awareness Month, let’s move past the stereotypes and understand the real meaning of modesty. 🤍
