Meet screenwriter-director Pam Miras who has done feature films and television series from the time of her full-length film debut, Pascalina, which won Best Picture at the 2012 Cinema One Originals Film Festival. She joins a panel of women experts for the 6th SineMaestra in observance of National Women’s Month 2025!

PAM MIRAS (b.1978) is a director and screenwriter for film and television based in the Philippines. She graduated from the University of the Philippines where her thesis film Reyna ng Kadiliman (1999) went on to win her first Gawad Urian award for best short film. Her succeeding short films have won several local awards and have screened and competed in international film festivals. Her feature debut, Pascalina (2012), won Best Picture at the 2012 Cinema One Originals film festival. To date she has directed 3 feature films, written for 15 television series, co-directed 10 television series, and written 5 feature screenplays. Recent critically regarded commercial work include her writing for the films Kitty K7 and Keys To The Heart (Philippine adaptation), the series Roadkillers, and co-directing for the series Maria
Clara at Ibarra.

She has also worked as a lecturer for scriptwriting and audiovisual production at the St. Scholastica’s College between 2006-2016. She was also actively involved in CineResbak and CineMaralita from 2017-2019, curating and organizing advocacy film programs for urban communities affected by human rights issues. She has also been a part of the short film selection committees for GAWAD CCP (now GAWAD ALTERNATIBO), the QCINEMA International Film Festival and the CINEMALAYA Film Festival. She also served as jury member for several local and student short film competitions and has given talks on
various aspects of filmmaking.
