The first time I met Ma'am Gregorio was around 2018, when I was still new to learning the harp. She was already hard of hearing around this time, so she may have never gotten my name. I first met her in UPD's Abelardo hall after a Christmas recital, which was then organized by Tita Jo-Ann Cerdenia's Harp Room, and I remember one of Ma'am Gregorio's old performances being shown briefly on the screen. There in that recital, I realized how much music can bring together so many people, how everyone on that day in that hall were only there because of Ma'am Gregorio's legacy.

The harp is still a very difficult instrument to access, and only a handful of people can actually play it. It may take many more years until the Philippines' harp community grows to be even just a fraction as big as other countries. But without Ma'am Gregorio's legacy, where she has trailblazed the path for many of us other harpists, it might not have been possible at all for the harp to be accessible in the Philippines.

Thank you, Ma'am Gregorio! I'm honored to have performed for you on that recital many years ago, and am thankful to be a product of your legacy.

We remain profoundly grateful for her years of dedicated service to the Conservatory of Music. Her influence remains an integral part of our musical community. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, colleagues, and former students. May she rest in peace.
