LCDFI Brings Digital Financial Education to Bataan Farmers and Fisherfolk

BALANGA CITY, BATAAN — LANDBANK Countryside Development Foundation, Inc. (LCDFI), in partnership with the LANDBANK Bataan Lending Center, successfully conducted a Digital Financial Education Training and AGRISENSO Plus Lending Program Orientation on May 21, 2026, at the Bataan Tourism Pavilion, Balanga City, Bataan.

The activity formed part of the Bataan Farmers and Fisherfolk Congress 2026, held in celebration of Farmers and Fisherfolk’s Week, with the theme, “Magsasaka at Mangingisda Bataeño: Kabuhayan ay Aangat, Pag-asenso ay Tiyak!”

The program was graced by distinguished officials and key agricultural leaders, including Provincial Governor Hon. Jose Enrique S. Garcia III, Assistant Secretary for High-Value Crops, Sagip Saka and Intellectual Property Atty. Joycel R. Panlilio, SP Committee Chairperson on Agriculture, Food and Fisheries Hon. Angelito Sunga, and Provincial Agriculturist Engr. Johanna R. Dizon, together with other local officials, partner agencies, farmers, and fisherfolk from the province.

Through the training, LCDFI reached 391 farmers and fisherfolk with practical and relatable learning sessions on basic financial management. Enterprise Development Coordinator Ms. Lynn A. Leopoldo led the discussion on digital financial education, focusing on identifying needs and wants, building an emergency fund, practicing responsible borrowing, making informed financial decisions, and using digital financial tools such as LANDBANK’s Mobile Banking Application for safer, more convenient, and more accessible transactions.

In support of financial inclusion and enterprise development, the LANDBANK Bataan Lending Center oriented the participants on the AGRISENSO Plus Lending Program, which is designed to assist small farmers, fishers, Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries, and micro-businesses. The program highlights more flexible, affordable, secure, and comprehensive support to help agricultural producers improve their operations and expand their livelihood activities.

The activity gathered a diverse group of participants, including senior and veteran farmers and fishers, as well as Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries, opening opportunities to connect more farmers and fisherfolk to appropriate financial services and credit support.

Through initiatives like this, LCDFI continues to bring financial education closer to countryside communities—helping farmers and fisherfolk become more financially capable, digitally informed, and better prepared to manage and grow their livelihood.
