Today, we honor the brave men and women of the EDSA People Power Revolution, the Filipinos who stood shoulder to shoulder along EDSA to reclaim our freedom and restore our democracy. They were ordinary citizens who chose courage over fear, truth over silence, and unity over division. In the face of uncertainty and danger, they proved that the collective strength of the people is greater than any force that seeks to control or silence them.

There may be those who attempt to rewrite history, to diminish the sacrifices made, or to portray that chapter of our story as distant and irrelevant. But we know better. We carry the memory of those days in our hearts. We remember the prayers whispered in the streets, the clasped hands, the unwavering hope that lit the darkness. We will not allow their courage to be erased, nor their legacy to be distorted.

We will not be silenced. We will not be tamed. The spirit of EDSA lives within each of us who believes in justice, accountability, and freedom. It lives in every voice that speaks out against abuse, in every act of solidarity with the oppressed, and in every effort to protect the rights that were hard won.

May we, as Filipinos, continue to stand firm in the truth of our history and the promise of our future. May we remain vigilant in defending our democracy and compassionate in serving one another. We have learned that when we stand together, no oppression can endure. We cannot be subdued again. We will continue to resist injustice, to defend our freedoms, and to keep the light of people power burning brightly for generations to come.
