The Westinghouse LW breaker is a type of molded-case circuit breaker (MCCB) that was originally manufactured by Westinghouse Electric Corporation.

The LW breaker is designed for low-voltage applications, providing reliable protection for commercial, industrial, and some residential electrical systems.

Key features
Molded-case construction: The circuit-breaker's components are housed within an insulated, molded case.
Trip unit: The breaker uses a thermal-magnetic trip unit to provide protection against both thermal overloads and instantaneous magnetic short-circuits.
Current-limiting ability: Some Series C breakers, including LW types, feature current-limiting technology that allows them to interrupt a short-circuit fault in the first half of an AC cycle, faster than conventional breakers.
Interchangeable trip units: The modular design allows for the replacement of the trip unit, which simplifies maintenance and adjustments.

Compatibility: LW breakers were often part of larger switchgear systems and motor control centers (MCCs) designed by Westinghouse, which have since been supported and produced by Eaton.
