When our San Miguel Foundation started Better World Tondo in 2019, the goal was simple: feed the hungry, care for families living with less and help the community where I spent many years of my life.

It began as a soup kitchen and kept growing. In six years, we have served over 580,000 meals, helped more than 385,000 families, provided 100,000 grocery packs and taught 1,400 children through our programs. With our partners, we have also rescued 765,000 kilos of food from going to waste, cutting nearly 500 tons of carbon emissions in the process.

And over the years, we have seen children not only nourished but also learning, parents worrying less, and neighbors looking out for one another. That's what keeps this place alive.

Better World Tondo shows that when we choose to care, we can make life better for others, and that gives me hope for the future. I'm looking forward to what more we can do together in the years ahead. Happy 6th anniversary!
