Upon entering the Museo de Intramuros, visitors are greeted by reliefs of Sta. Rita de Cascia, one of which portrays scenes from her vita.

In the depiction, she holds a blooming rose in her right hand and a withering rose in her left, symbolizing a well-known episode from her life. During her final days, she was asked if there was anything that might ease her suffering, to which she simply requested a flower.

Despite the cold January season, when blossoms would ordinarily have withered, her cousin discovered a rose still in bloom and picked it for her. The saint endured a life marked by profound sorrow following the deaths of her husband and children. Such tragedies could have embittered many, yet she remained steadfast in her faith, particularly after choosing to enter an Augustinian convent.

The church depicted in the foreground may likewise symbolize her enduring spirit of perseverance and devotion.
