Not only did hearts fly, DC-3s did too.
On February 14, 1946, exactly 80 years ago, Philippine Airlines proudly resumed operations, marking the beginning of the country’s post-war recovery and a renewed chapter in Philippine aviation.
Don Andres Soriano led the ceremonies, which were attended by a modest yet excited crowd. At 7:00 AM, a Douglas DC-3 bearing the fitting registry PI-C14 lifted off from the sprawling Nielson Airfield, bound for Legaspi, Tacloban, and Cebu.

Among its highlights is an actual Apollo Lunar Module, LM-13 which was meant for a future mission which never pushed. It is one of only three remaining on Earth.
