Through project preparation support for the Cities Development Initiative for Asia (CDIA), a pre-feasibility study was conducted on wastewater, watershed, and solid waste management systems in Cagayan de Oro City.

The initiative assessed environmental policies and compliance, reviewed existing waste management systems, and developed improved strategies for collection, segregation, and recycling. It also introduced public awareness frameworks and stakeholder engagement approaches, while ensuring environmental safeguards and sustainable practices were integrated into project planning.

This effort lays the groundwork for cleaner communities, stronger environmental governance, and more resilient urban systems.
