When God speaks to us, do we truly hear from Him?

Today, February 11, marks the Feast Day of Our Lady of Lourdes. Let this day be a reminder that God is always speaking to us, in mysterious ways. May it be through prayer, purpose, or visions.

Our Lady of Lourdes is a title of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which recalls when she first appeared to a sickly child, whom we now know as St. Bernadette. She is a symbol of prayer, guidance, and healing, reminding us that suffering is seen, felt, and loved. Through Our Lady of Lourdes, peace is poured out gently.

Sancta Maria, pray for us.

“Guard the truth that has been entrusted to you by the Holy Spirit who dwells within us.” — St. Paul (2 Timothy 1:14)

On this day, we commemorate the Memorial of Saints Timothy and Titus — faithful disciples and companions of St. Paul who embodied courage, obedience, and steadfast faith. Entrusted with leading early Christian communities, they served as shepherds who nurtured the Church through teaching, guidance, and unwavering devotion to the Gospel. Their lives remind us of the importance of standing firm in truth while serving others with humility and love. 🙏🏼

As we honor them today, we are called to follow their example of faithfulness, responsibility, and commitment to God’s mission. May Saints Timothy and Titus inspire us to be courageous witnesses of Christ, to lead with compassion, and to uphold the values of integrity and service in our daily lives.

“Nothing is so strong as gentleness, nothing so gentle as real strength.”
-St. Francis de Sales

Today, January 24th, we observe the memorial of St. Francis de Sales, one of many saints holding the title of Bishop and Doctor of the Church.

Born in 1567, France, St. Francis de Sales is known for his soft wisdom, promoted authenticity, used tenderness above severity, emphasized calmness, patience (particularly with oneself), and doing small acts with tremendous love for God. He taught the people that holiness is for everyone, and that true devotion is through developing inner serenity, discovering God in daily life, and unconditional love that are all necessary components of sincere devotion.

He is known as the patron saint of writers, journalists, and the Catholic press as his writings are influential and used it to explain faith to the people. Not only that, he was also known as the patron saint of the deaf as he used sign language in order to preach which led to his patronage.

It is important to commemorate St. Francis de Sales as he teaches us to have a loving and peaceful approach to faith, to live a holy life in everyday situations, and to have patience with others, especially to yourself.
