ENTRY #002: Claire Bernardino Sapitanan

​For our second archive entry, we feature a cornerstone of the local scene. Claire Sapitanan is the definition of a versatile bassist, anchoring the low end for Ramrod, Quantum, and Versus Venus, while frequently stepping in for high-level session work.

​THE STORY:
Claire’s entry into the world of bass was born out of a desire to keep the music alive. When a talented band she admired stalled due to the lack of a bassist, she stepped up, learning at lightning speed to match their caliber. Beyond the stage, she leads a music club in the corporate world, championing the instrument in a sea of guitarists.

​THE TONE & TECHNIQUE:
A dedicated pick player, Claire leans toward an Industrial tone. She favors a "foundation-first" approach, locking into the band’s energy to create a solid platform for the melody.
