It was a great hangout experience by Group 6! Reetomo and chill mornings that we enjoyed, and the fun marathon of the virtual tour that Reetomo offered. We did ‘Gear Up’ and pushed the brakes of our learning into a high speed as we drove over the excitements and insights that this fun and educational three-day webinar and educational tour has shown us! As we binge-watched all the episodes of different tourist sector spots from our different speakers. We first fastened our seatbelts and flew away with our hopes of traveling and opportunities we can get in Transportation with Ms. Katrina Mae Coro. After taking off and landing with some insights, we also went on to the next episode of fun outdoor recreations with Ms. Kaye Lantoria and proceeded to settle in the accommodation at Singapore with Mr. John Johara Martinez. We then flew down to Boracay to explore the unseen culture and tradition that lies within it through Ms. Diana Joyce Lorenzo for the final episode of the day.
On the second day, we walked through the walls and discovered the wonders of Intramuros with Ms. Sheena Botiwey then tease our appetites with the new trends of food worked through and serve safely our delights by Mr. John Michael Hagaman. We then proceed to see the event sectors, as mass gatherings are highly prohibited and the event sector makes new ways and strategies to cope with the situation and keep the happenings together with Ms. Ivy Samarista for the final episode explored. On the third day, we had a fresh breeze and salt in our hair with Ms. Kayesha Chua in Palawan and enjoy the different outdoor recreations. Virtual Tour 10: Outdoor Recreation 🎡 🎢
We definitely felt the magic that lives within the Enchanted Kingdom! So the Enchanted Kingdom was built in 1992 and still stands today as one of the most popular theme park here in the Philippines. It is known for magic, adventure, and thrill coming as one, and we indeed saw it as they take us to the different parts of the parks from Victoria Park down to the Space Port. Each place gives different vibes from the era and place that each part of the park is embodying. Its new soaring attraction named after the known Philippine eagle opened in 2016, known as ‘Agila: The Experience’, which is one of the biggest first flying theater in our country. Their world-class attractions and recreations are perfect for everyone to feel the memories and magic. It is truly persuading and amazing to see all the fun and excitement inside the Kingdom where the magic awaits.
Ever since the pandemic, we can’t go to different amusement parks like the Enchanted Kingdom but they made the Project so we can feel their fun and magic in the comforts of our own homes. It is a type of Educational Tourism that promotes the Enchanted Kingdom like a classroom, it is perfect for Tourism and Hospitality Management students like us. It is also good to hear that they are helping out the frontliners, local community, and their dedicated casts amidst the pandemic. The Enchanted Kingdom re-opened with 50% capacity last year in October. The park seems like a perfect place for safe outdoor recreation because it has open areas and space for fresh air with proper IATF guidelines are adhered to. It definitely is a perfect place for this pandemic to go to, in order to relieve the stress and anxiety that is going on within our country. It is great to know that their magic truly survived and withstand despite the challenge we are facing today. Thanks to the improvement of their online presence and E-Commerce, we can feel the magic and fun within us virtually. As someone who never went to the Enchanted Kingdom, I surely can’t wait to check out the magical and lifetime memories to cherish in going to the Enchanted Kingdom soon!

Virtual Tour 7: Food & Beverage 🍽🍷
Food and Beverage with Entertainment is a major sector within the Tourism and Hospitality Industry. This virtual tour showcased an anticipating and exciting sensation of consuming various delicacies that will satisfy our palate. An around-the-globe experience through eating different cuisines of other countries, added by the ambience of the environment. Food and beverage entertain the guests with its presentation, to which appeals the eyes of the customers. A lunch at Tokyo is evidence of a gratifying experience of the Japanese culture while staying in a different country. Majority of us like to post an appetizing set of dishes on our social media accounts.
On Instagram, it is also known as ‘foodporn’. Food is considered an edible piece of artwork, especially desserts. There will be always room for desserts. The delightful taste of sweets that leaves a harmonious impression in our tongues. We want our food clean, our environment clean. We demand for a sanitary location for food and leisure. Despite the numerous establishments that suffered during the pandemic. The Tourism and Hospitality Industry assures the safety and security of every customer first, by implementing different approaches and safety protocols to give the guests a comfortable experience.

Virtual Tour 6: Attraction ⛲️
Attraction or the pull factor is one of the motivations (push factor) that the travelers have in exploring and touring a certain destination mainly for their desires, hobbies and for recreation. The beauty of nature, historical sites amusement parks, events, and many more. Intramuros is an urban district and historic walled city within Metropolitan Manila, Philippines. All throughout the years, it has gone through many hardships, blasted by canons in 1762 and damaged by earthquakes in 1863 but managed to hold on and was excavated and exposed again in 1979.
We all know that this pandemic caused devastation to many. Therefore they need to envision and conduct innovations to be able to still provide for the guests and to let them enjoy while they feel safe. Ms. Sheena from the Intramuros Administration and their team thought of activities that they do on site to be made available virtually. They conducted virtual tours wherein people can travel from their homes, through the “We are Intramuros docs series”, made free online webinars on various topics about the history of the Philippines through the Intramuros Learning sessions and Kulay ng Kasaysayan for the younger viewers for a strong online presence.
There’s a lot to explore and learn in Intramuros! Come and let us all enjoy and discover the History of our beloved Philippines!

Virtual Tour 4: Accommodation 🏢
From the inspiring story of Mr. John Johara B. Martinez, he talked about his career journey after his graduation. He wanted to be in a job where works are not complicated. From all the things he mentioned, I realized that accommodating people every day is not a simple work. It might seem easy, but there are events that are unpredictable that’s why we have to be innovative and flexible.
Working in the hotel industry, performance and skills are very important as it will help you learn and grow as you meet a lot of different people who has different needs and wants that, as an employee, you have to satisfy or go beyond their expectations. Being able to provide a unique experience to the guests make them want to come back to make another memorable moments.

Virtual Tour 2: Transportation 🛫
Travel is full of excitement and fun. From on the way to the airport, to the baggage counter, immigration, waiting area up until we board in our plane just gives us chills and moment to sink in that we’re finally going to our dream destination. Not until the pandemic happened. Canceled flights, travel bans, and safety protocols were implemented. When we look at our situation today, everything changed drastically. The airport that was full of happiness was now covered by silence.
As safety protocols were implemented such as wearing PPEs, social distancing and sanitizing every after flight, we still can't assure and feel safe as the covid-19 still exist. A lot of airlines have loss a lot of earnings which caused them to removed thousands of employees. The economic state of the tourism industry in the year 2019 was at the peak but when the pandemic occurred, the tables have turned. We were all not ready as we didn’t expected things like this could have happened but still we have to survive in this new normal and hopefully we’ll be able to bounce back in the future.

Virtual Tour 1: Transportation ✈️
In the first virtual tour, Ms. Katarina Mae Coro, told her story about how she got her current job. As I listened and understand her story, I immediately thought how lucky she is because getting a job shortly after graduation is hard knowing that not all good companies hire fresh graduates. Also, we can see how the company values their employees as Ms. Coro is now on her 10th year working in the same company after she graduated. I suddenly thought of what my future holds in terms of getting a job after graduation if there’s still a pandemic.
As the tourism and hospitality industry heavily affected by the pandemic, it made a huge impact not just in the economy but also in the lives of people. It may be hard for us but this is now what we call the “new normal”. There may be a lot of changes from traveling such as following safety protocols, social distancing and wearing of PPEs, but the services provided by the employees to the customers will never change as the top priority is always the guest's happiness.
As a hospitality student, I can’t help but think about my future knowing that the tourism is one of the most affected industry by the pandemic, but after hearing those words of wisdom from Ms. Coro, it made me realize that I can have a different path but still have the same destination just be patient and resilient. Always take the challenges that is thrown to us and try to explore more of the world as it will help us to learn and grow.

🌄 Introduction:
The tourism industry started around the 17th century and it has grown massively due to the reason for people wanting to tour different countries. And because of the advance technology it made it easier to visit places and have a vacation.
Tourism gives people satisfaction due to the fact that humans are able to experience different cultures and hospitable people are in that country. Get to see the famous tourist spots that everyone is talking about and also get to do the fun activities. It also helps the growth of the country and it was able to provide opportunities to the people.
The industry suddenly experienced a challenge due to the pandemic and a lot of people from the industry had to pull out some of their employees. And people started questioning if the industry will be able to bounce back and if everything will be back to normal. And people who are entering the industry question themselves if it is still worth it to continue. Currently the industry is able to arise again but slowly and following the protocols from the government.
