𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐃𝐎𝐍’𝐓 𝐓𝐄𝐋𝐋?
It is a writing technique that relates the characters through actions and sensory details, instead of outright exposing and plain out telling the readers what is happening. It immerses the readers to be in the same world as the characters, instead of just knowing that they are reading what the characters are doing.
It is a great way to improve your world building.

Example:
𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠: Carlos was terrified of the darkness from his windows.

𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠: As soon as Carlos sat down on his bed, his eyes met the darkness crawling from the yellow stained-glass windows left open by his mother. He tensed, shaking as he huddled behind cover, tightly gripping onto the bed sheets. His bed frame almost making a sound as he trembles with the cold eerie wind calling from the outside of his house.

But there’s always a bottom line: TELLING is easier and is also needed most of the time especially during fast paced scenes. 𝐒𝐨, 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
