Enhanced content on communications,
understanding orders, human relationships,
conflict resolution, interpersonal skills.
Teamwork refresher” is specifically mentioned as an added subject in PSSR under STCW updates.
4. Marine environmental awareness Pollution prevention
understanding environmental responsibilities onboard.
Already existing, but with more weight
5. Emergency procedures, safe working practices,
shipboard familiarization, and hazard recognition
Core PSSR topics remain, but with updated approaches deeper coverage of human element,
human factors, and safety culture.
