A CEAS Lecture Series titled "𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚: 𝙐𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙤 𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙙
𝘾𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙉𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙨" was held on May 20, 2026, with Ms. Giyanne Deypalan serving as the guest speaker. As a result of the seminar, students enhanced their understanding of how library materials are arranged, categorized, and located.

Through this discussion, students learned the importance of call numbers for identifying books' subjects, authors, and locations on library shelves. The ability to identify call numbers helps students become more independent and efficient library users, enabling them to get to the resources they need more quickly and easily.

During the seminar, Ms. Deypalan explained the structure and components of call numbers and demonstrated how books are arranged based on the classification systems used in academic libraries. She also emphasized the importance of information literacy and proper library utilization in supporting students' academic and research needs.

The seminar concluded with an interactive, hands-on activity in which students were given sample call numbers and tasked with organizing library materials in their proper sequence. This practical exercise allowed participants to apply the concepts discussed during the session and strengthened their understanding of shelf arrangement and book retrieval. The activity also encouraged active participation, collaboration, and critical thinking among the students.

Overall, the seminar was highly successful, as it provided students with valuable knowledge and practical experience in navigating the library effectively. The activity further reinforced the Learning Resource Center's commitment to promoting library awareness, user education, and the development of essential research and information retrieval skills among students.
