The nation honors National Artist Vicente Manansala on his 116th Birth Anniversary.

Vicente Manansala's artistry is distinguished by its ability to depict reality while seamlessly shifting into the realm of abstraction. In his formative years, his gift first emerged through the intricate renditions he crafted of the Sagrada Familia, as well as a portrait of his mother inspired by a photograph.

Upon completing his fine arts studies at the University of the Philippines, he embarked on a journey that led him away from his familial abode, ultimately landing a position as an illustrator for the Philippines Herald.
