The Civil Engineering Department proudly celebrates the successful conduct of the 𝐂𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐮𝐦 2026 (𝐂𝐄𝐑𝐂 2026) held on May 22, 2026, at the OZ Conference Room.

This year’s colloquium carried the theme: “𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬, 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬: 𝐂𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞.”

The event was honored by the presence of our keynote speaker, and AdU BSCE Alumnus, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐊𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐞 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬, who delivered an insightful talk entitled “𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡: 𝐑𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡.” His discussion inspired participants to pursue higher standards of academic rigor and research publication.

This year’s colloquium also featured research presentations from our esteemed faculty members of the Department of Civil Engineering, including 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐆𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐨, 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐕𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐡 𝐄𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬 𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐫𝐚, showcasing their latest scholarly contributions to the field.

In addition, the event highlighted the research presentations of our students, along with a vibrant poster presentation session, where both undergraduate and graduate researchers shared their innovative work and findings with the academic community.

The colloquium featured both 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 sessions, fostering meaningful discussions, knowledge exchange, and inspiration for future research directions. It also served as a valuable opportunity for incoming fourth-year students to explore potential thesis topics aligned with their interests and emerging trends in civil engineering.

The 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 of Adamson University, in partnership with the 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 (𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐒), successfully conducted the 𝐒𝐭. 𝐕𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞: 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 on May 7–8, 2026 at OZ104, Adamson University.

This 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 was designed to equip participants from our adopted communities with valuable carpentry skills that can open doors to livelihood and employment opportunities. Through hands-on training and practical demonstrations, participants learned the fundamentals of carpentry, proper use of tools, basic construction techniques, and workplace safety practices.

By providing technical knowledge and practical skills, the workshop aims to empower community members with competencies that can help improve their economic opportunities and contribute to their personal and professional growth.

The activity reflects the commitment of the Department of Civil Engineering and ICES to community development through education, skills training, and Vincentian service.
