Tropical Bliss

Birthdays are special and with that comes a cake that is made just for you.

For this cake, I infused the sponge with sencha tea, filled layers in between with German coconut buttercream and mango pastry cream then wrapped it with yuzu buttercream. It was accented with the client's favorite colors, teal and rose blush.

When you have been baking for a while, it could be difficult to find a favorite. Well, my search is finally over, I can proudly say this is it for me. Maybe, it has to do with the nutty black sesame filling marbled into the soft condensed milk bread. Let me stop talking, I want another piece. 😁❤️

Chicken inasal

Typically, I would have chicken inasal in the resraurant. My excuse for not making this is I do not own a charcoal grill. Today, I attempted, not with the grill but in the oven and it worked just as well. The chicken stayed moist and to get that beautiful char, broil it for 2-3 min. Paired it with garlic sinangag (fried rice) and salad with calamansi vinaigrette.
