Consistent to President Rodrigo Duterteโs fight against illegal drugs and Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerreroโs mandate to intensify anti-illegal drugs campaign, the Bureau of Customs-Port of Clark, in close coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Enforcement and Security Service (ESS) - Customs Anti-Illegal Drug Task Force (CAIDTF) and Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS), seized one (1) kilogram of Methamphetamine Hydrochloride (Shabu) with an estimated value of Php 6,126,800.00 concealed inside four (4) CCTV cameras, an export shipment bound for Auckland, New Zealand.
Acting on a reliable information that an export shipment declared as โCCTV Camera and Video Recorderโ contains illegal drugs, the ESS-CAIDTF coordinated with the portโs Export Unit and CIIS to put on hold the said shipment. Thereafter, physical examination was conducted on the subject shipment in the presence of CIIS personnel, ESS-CAIDTF and PDEA agents, which yielded six (6) packs of suspected Shabu concealed inside four (4) CCTV cameras. PDEA Chemical Laboratory Analysis Report confirmed the same as Methamphetamine Hydrochloride (Shabu).
District Collector Alexandra Lumontad issued a Warrant of Seizure and Detention against the subject shipment for violation of Section 118 (g), 119 (d) and 1113 par. f & l (3 & 4) of R.A. 10863 otherwise known as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) in relation to R.A. 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
On August 27, 2021, the subject illegal drugs were turned over to PDEA pursuant to Customs Administrative Order No. 03-2020.
The Port of Clark, under the leadership of Commissioner Guerrero, will continuously strengthen its effort against illegal drugs through consistent coordination with PDEA and CAIDTF to support the continuing war of President Rodrigo Duterte against prohibited drugs.
