Meet 𝗥𝗶𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘇, the resource speaker for the "𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗼𝗿-𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗺𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗩𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝘅𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁." With extensive experience in mental health, psychosocial support, and advocacy, she will lead participants in strengthening survivor-centered, trauma-informed, and rights-based approaches to responding to gender-based violence (GBV) and sexual harassment (SH) cases in the university setting.

Riyan is a registered psychologist, registered psychometrician, and mental health advocate whose work bridges mental health, education, and social change. She has collaborated with international organizations such as 𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗘𝗙 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 and the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲 (𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗣) through its 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀' 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing inclusive and accessible mental health for all.

This two-day training workshop aims to equip key university stakeholders with the practical knowledge, skills, and frameworks necessary to provide compassionate, trauma-informed, and rights-based responses to cases of gender-based violence and sexual harassment within the university setting.

In celebration of Pride Month, the 𝗣𝗨𝗣 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 (𝗥𝗠𝗢), 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 (𝗖𝗔𝗟), and 𝗣𝗨𝗣 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 (𝗟𝗔𝗖𝗦) have initiated "𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆: 𝗔 𝗟𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀" under the PUP Gender Equity, Diversity, and Social Inclusion Office's (GEDSIO) 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁. The event is currently taking place at Silid Lakan-Dayang, PUP Ninoy Aquino Library and Learning Resources Center.

The program formally opened through the Opening Remarks of 𝗚𝗘𝗗𝗦𝗜𝗢 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗩. 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼, emphasizing the university's commitment to fostering spaces that uphold gender parity, inclusivity, and respect for diverse identities.

Participants are now engaging in an insightful discussion led by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝗮𝘆𝗮 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗯𝗼, scholar and educator in q***r and trans studies, who serves as the event's keynote speaker. Following the lecture, a dialogue session will be facilitated by 𝗥𝗠𝗢 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗼𝗹𝗼 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗲, researcher and instructor of cultural and literary criticism, to further deepen conversations on trans and gender inclusivity in both academic and industry settings.

Through this initiative, PUP continues to strengthen its commitment to building a more inclusive, equitable, and affirming community for all. ✨🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

The PUP Rainbow Fair 2026 is now in full swing at the 3rd and 4th Floor South Wing Bridge, PUP Main Campus!

In celebration of Pride Month, the Gender Equity, Diversity, and Social Inclusion Office (GEDSIO), together with PUP KASARIANLAN, the PUP College of Political Science and Public Administration Student Council, the PUP College of Science Student Council, and the PUP College of Social Sciences and Development Student Council, and Love Yourself Inc., have come together to create a safe, inclusive, and empowering space for the PUP community.

Participants can enjoy exciting activities, interactive games with prizes, and access FREE sexual and reproductive health services throughout the event. Join us as we celebrate diversity, promote inclusivity, and reaffirm our commitment to equality and pride for all.

Step into a world of color, courage, and pride as the PUP Gender Equity, Diversity, and Social Inclusion Office (GEDSIO) in collaboration with PUP KASARIANLAN, officially opened the 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗯𝗼𝘄 𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁 yesterday as part of the university’s celebration of Pride Month 2026.

Carrying the theme, "𝙌𝙪𝙚𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙨 𝙃𝙪𝙢𝙖𝙣," the exhibit invites the PUP community to look beyond labels and stereotypes and instead see q***r lives in their fullness—in moments of joy and grief, in friendship and family, in hope, struggle, and becoming. Through curated photographs and visual artworks, the exhibit affirms that q***r stories are not exceptions to humanity but are deeply and undeniably part of it.

We encourage everyone to visit the Rainbow Exhibit at the University Library Lobby 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟯𝟬 to witness the artworks created by talented members of the PUP community. Join us in celebrating Pride and in fostering a community where diversity thrives and everyone is empowered to be their authentic selves.

This event will discuss how fair treatment, equal opportunities, and respect for all genders can help create a positive and healthy work environment, and through simple discussions and workplace examples, participants will learn how proper role assignment and inclusive teamwork can prevent misunderstandings, unfair workloads, and discrimination.
