Ezra 1:1-11 (NIV):
1. In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the Lord spoken by Jeremiah, the Lord moved the heart of Cyrus king of Persia to make a proclamation throughout his realm and also to put it in writing:
2. “This is what Cyrus king of Persia says:
“ ‘The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and he has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jerusalem in Judah.
3. Any of his people among you may go up to Jerusalem in Judah and build the temple of the Lord, the God of Israel, the God who is in Jerusalem, and may their God be with them.
4. And in any locality where survivors may now be living, the people are to provide them with silver and gold, with goods and livestock, and with freewill offerings for the temple of God in Jerusalem.’ ”
5. Then the family heads of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and Levites—everyone whose heart God had moved—prepared to go up and build the house of the Lord in Jerusalem.
6. All their neighbors assisted them with articles of silver and gold, with goods and livestock, and with valuable gifts, in addition to all the freewill offerings.
7. Moreover, King Cyrus brought out the articles belonging to the temple of the Lord, which Nebuchadnezzar had carried away from Jerusalem and had placed in the temple of his god.
8. Cyrus king of Persia had them brought by Mithredath the treasurer, who counted them out to Sheshbazzar the prince of Judah.
9. This was the inventory: gold dishes 30 silver dishes 1,000 silver pans 29
10. gold bowls 30 matching silver bowls 410 other articles 1,000
11. In all, there were 5,400 articles of gold and of silver. Sheshbazzar brought all these along with the exiles when they came up from Babylon to Jerusalem.

A FATHER'S CONCERN

A loving father is concerned about his children's welfare, future, and spiritual condition.

Paano mo ba malalaman ang pinakamalaking concern ng isang ama?
-ang pinkamalaking concern ng isang ama ay makikita sa mga bagay na lagi niyang binibigyang halaga at paulit-ulit na tinuturo sa kanyang mga anak.

Proverbs 23:26 ESV
My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.

A loving father is concerned not only with what his son does.

Two types of father inside the family.
1. Godly father
2. Worldly father
- both have different concerns for their children.

1. GODLY FATHER IS CONCERNED ABOUT HIS CHILD'S HEART

Proverbs 23:26
My son, give me your heart....

"A wise father understands that when he wins his child's heart, he can influence his child's life."

Fathers should focus on shaping the heart, not just correcting behavior.

"Behavior follows the direction of the heart. When the heart is right, the life will follow."

2. A GODLY FATHER IS CONCERNED TO THE DIRECTION OF HIS LIFE.
Proverbs 23:26..let your eyes observe my ways.

"A good father is not ashamed to tell his son, "Son, learn from what I do and make it a pattern for your life."

Children often follow what they see more than what they hear.

"A father must be a model of godly living for his entire family, setting an example of faith, integrity, and obedience to God."

1 Corinthians 4:15-16
For even if you had ten thousand others to teach you about Christ, you only have one spiritual father. For I became your father in Christ Jesus when I preached the Good News to you. So I urge you to imitate me.

3. A GODLY FATHER IS CONCERNED ABOUT HIS CHILD'S FUTURE.

Ang mapagmahal na ama ay hindi lamang tumitingin sa pangangailangan ng kanyang anak sa kasalukuyan iniisip din niya kung ano ang magiging buhay niya sa hinaharap.

A godly father's concern is not merely what his child achieves today but what kind of person his child becomes tomorrow.

Worldly father....
1. A WORLDY FATHER IS CONCERNED ABOUT HIS CHILD's PERFORMANCE.
Mark 8:36
What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?

2. A WORLDLY FATHER IS CONCERNED ABOUT TEMPORARY THINGS.

A worldy father says " Make a Living."
A godly father says, "Make a life that honors God."

"Ang concern ng worldly father ay kung ano ang mararating ng anak sa buhay.
Ang concern ng godly father ay kung sino ang magiging anak niya sa harapan ng Dios."

"A father's greatest concern is not what his child will posses in life but whether his child's heart belongs to God."
