I have been caught up in the drama surrounding the mismanagement and downfall of a major art market and have been engaging in over on Threads, sharing my tea on the situation as a congoer that I totally forgot about a convention I had the honor to cover as a media and how good and fun the whole experience was.

This was my first ever experience at Geek+Pop, considered one of the best organizers of pop culture events in the Philippines. I heard so much about how good their events are and in the midst of the whole drama surrounding the other event I forgot about how good the recent Card Show and RESBAK Fighting Games Show really was.

The energy surrounding the fighting game tournaments. The deals people had when browsing the card sellers. The mystique surrounding mystery and booster packs. The spaces where TCG collectors and players were allowed to do their thing and play along. The tables where TCG players shared their hauls from the event. The players spellbound over the sheer variety of games represented and the exciting deals. The gamers that were taken back to their childhoods with the retro game stations. It was a kind of energy that this kind of event provided. I felt it all over the place.

Geek+Pop was truly a place for so many fandoms to come together and I am glad I shared that experience with the community. I would definitely recommend this kind of event be experienced by any pop culture connoisseur at their upcoming events soon. I hear they have something big planned soon.

The overall experience at Geek+Pop was a solid 11/10.Any of their events is a must do for any pop culture lover.
