EL NIÑO ALERT | DOST-PAGASA has officially raised its ENSO Alert and Warning System to El Niño Alert, following the high likelihood of its development in the coming months and possible persistence into early 2027. This may bring drier-than-usual conditions, including dry spells and droughts in parts of the country.

However, above-normal rainfall may still be experienced over the western sections during the Habagat season.

We likewise recognize PDRRMO Head Mr. Shaminoden Sambitory for convening this meeting of LDRRMOs through a purposeful and forward-looking meeting that gathered key stakeholders involved in disaster preparedness and resilience building.

The meeting served as an essential platform for exchanging ground-level experiences while also identifying existing gaps and potential areas for improvement within current DRRM systems. It further emphasized the critical role of coordination between provincial and local offices in ensuring timely, efficient, and well-informed disaster preparedness and response actions.
